The Soul of Music (mine)

I’ve always loved the idea of Art Journaling.  But for some reason it never caught on.  I have a stack of blank art journals on my studio shelf waiting for an artist to pick them up and paint, doodle, glue and stain.  I’ve gathered supplies: papers, inks, mediums and stamps, paints, glazes and pastel crayons.  But for some reason it never caught on.

Then sometime last month I watched a free video tutorial by Effy Wild that she calls “Book Binding 101, on her site, recently renamed  The Glitterhood.  It looked easy, and fun so I ventured into book making with her recipe for a juicy, handmade, canvas covered, heavy water color paper journal.

And it didn’t take long…….I’m hooked!  I’ve made three journals already, and I can’t wait to fill them up.

I lined the front and back covers of this one with one of my FEARLESS paintings from my IGNITE teacher training.

We’ve been exploring our devotion these past two months in IGNITE.  And for some reason, it caught on.  From the insides of this juicy art journal that I made with my own hands.  My soul sings to me, of devotion and longing.

This page really lights up my heart.  I combined my love for Soul Art and my Soul of Music.
